X
Classic Punk

Considered by many musical experts to be the best band to come from the L.A. Punk scene. X was made sensational by their combination of visual components, amazing playing, and great stage presence. Billy Zoom would be able to pull off an amazing solo without loosing his cool look, like a child he would stand still with just a smile on his face, you could tell if he was really enjoying himself on stage if he stuck his tongue out, and that was the full extent of his visual display. Exene was everywoman, she was Medusa, Little Match girl, baddest chick at school, crazed homeless woman, vamp, crone, and wistful runaway all in one. She had the hips of a child, but the bosom of a femme fatale, she had a fabulous fashion sense as well, with scuffed granny shoes on her feet, silent film star-like makeup, and old party dresses, and she was a feast for the eyes. John Doe was the pretty boy of the group, tall and lean, jet black hair and facial features that seemed to be a mix of Elvis and Woody Guthrie. D.J. Bonebrake was rarely seen, but after the show when he came to take a bow, the crowd realized he was just a kid, still with his boyish innocence, but a fever to play the drums at breakneck speed.
