Black metal normally favors atmosphere in music leaving pure brutality up to other extreme metal acts. This is certainly not the case with English black metal band Anaal Nathrakh, a band that brings a new view of black metal. It hits you like a freight train of insanity, complete with black metal characteristics. Anaal Nathrakh shows that the future may be bringing forth a legion of new black metal, one unlike anything seen so far. Chainsaw-like guitars and ear-piercing shrieks form a chaotic yet technical sound, backed by instrumental technicality and experimental ambience and death metal. Annal Nathrakh is somewhat mysterius, concealing both their identities and their lyrics, but an enigma such as this extreme metal band is sure to only entice listeners with what is yet to come.
