I chose "Other" because the band constantly reinvents itself, and rarely sticks to one particular sound
or idea for very long. The Gathering pioneered the so-called "gothic rock/metal" sound popularized by
Lacuna Coil and bastardized by Evanescence, but soon moved on to a more progressive and
experimental sound with the release of "How To Measure a Planet?" in 2000. Featuring perhaps one of

finest groups I've ever heard.
