Formed in 2005, the Raconteurs takes to its logical conclusion the long-running series of collaborations between the White Stripes' Jack White and solo singer-songwriter Brendan Benson. The pair share twin duties of fronting the band and each function as singer, guitarist and keyboardist.

The band released their first single in the UK on January 30, 2006, a limited edition double A-side 7" single entitled 'Steady As She Goes/Store Bought Bones.' The group's debut album, completed in mid-2005 but delayed to accomodate the White Stripes' touring schedule, is on course for a May 2006 release. « hide |
