Split Enz was a popular New Zealand art rock band, active from 1972 to 1984. Their eccentric image and sound (incorporating elements of vaudeville, swing, punk, rock, New Wave and pop) bought them success at home, Australia and even Canada.The group's career falls into two distinct phases. Starting in a progressive rock setting, the group later touched upon punk rock.
