Formed in the late nineties by bass player Roger Ersson, drummer Hugo Tigenius and singer Niklas Murbeck, Slodust now has been alive for almost a decade. The Nynashamn based band has had its ups and downs, has seen members come and go. But in the end it always have made clear for others around what also can be read in the convolute of the bands one album (Twisted Ahead, 2001), "Slodust is not a project, its our lifestyle". Those words is the core, the very essence of Slodust and it is evident now more than ever. Throughout the years Slodust has been known and recognized for its ability to make live appearances that rock the very foundation of the earth, with an honest musical burst that sways between primal, aggressive rage and vulnerable, harmonic tones. The influence comes from many different genres but feel sure to say that Slodust always has had its roots in metal. Starting out as a plain metal band the Slodust has evolved over the years into something more, always trying to challenge and broaden themselves. Thats one of the reasons that made the band well known on the stages around the Stockholm area. After molesting the scenes of too many cities for too many years Slodust decided to make a deal with a record company, which resulted in the Twisted Ahead album. After the release of the album the future of Slodust indeed looked bright. But as in many other similar cases the band felt they were struggling alone toward their goals, never feeling the support from the record company. After a year or so Slodust broke the contract with the record company, leaving the rights to Twisted Ahead behind them and therefore now recommending you who mean to support Slodust by buying the album, to find other ways to hear the music. After the contract failure the band continued to write music and make live appearances, thinking they could find better deals along the way. But thousands of hours spent together began to take its toll and individual priorities made it hard and in the end impossible, for Slodust to continue as before. After dropouts from four of the bands six members Slodust were closer an end than ever. The two remaining in the band, its newest member guitarist Ivan Castaeda (a long time Slodust fan) and the founder Roger Ersson, began collaborating with other bands and musicians. As they both felt that playing in a band is the ultimate musical experience, none of them wanted to lay down their instruments. In the search after equal-minded musicians the two of them stumbled over the remains of another band that were about to break up, bringing in drummer Daniel "Dante" Bjorklund and guitarist Niklas Olsson in this new group. After much thought the four of them decided not to find a new name for themselves, but to keep the name as well as the basic ideas of Slodust. New songs that better fitted the new ensemble were written while the four members kept a frantic search after a singer that could complete the band. An interest of the position were shown by singer Deniz Schenstrom, that earlier had shared band with both Dante and Niklas, and after a time of tryout all the pieces were about to fall in place for Slodust. Over years of silence Slodust has bided time and prepared for their musical assault on the rest of the world. The time for that assault is now and be sure not to miss the opportunity of being one with it. As has been said before, Slodust is not a project, its our lifestyle! « hide
