Neneh Cherry is the alias of Neneh Mariann Karlsson, a musician from Stockholm, Sweden. Known for her unique blend of varying influences with hip-hop, Cherry originally gained fame in 1988 with her first single, "Buffalo Stance", which was followed a year later by her acclaimed debut album "Raw Like Sushi".She was influential in the formation of key trip-hop acts, having been an early supporter of Massive Attack and working alongside Geoff Barrow on her second album, 'Homebrew' before he would go on to form Portishead.
