Hearts Of Black Science

From Gothenburg, Sweden comes alternative electro-rock act Hearts of Black Science with their melancholic and sometimes dark pop with haunting melodies. From Gothenburg, Sweden comes alternative electro-rock act Hearts of Black Science with their melancholic and sometimes dark pop with haunting melodies. In the winter of November 2005, the two childhood friends Daniel Änghede (Vocals, Guitars, Bass) and Tomas Almgren (Synths, Programming, Beats) met up after Tomas had spent the last seven years in London and Berlin, working on a career as a horror movie director and Daniel’s band Astroqueen had just split up so they decided to form a band. The following five months saw the two working day and night, producing, writing and recording all their songs and spending every waking hour in their studio. The studio is situated deep within a subterranean power plant, abandoned since the early nineties which pretty much isolates them from the world and has acted as a haven in which they can experiment and develop their own sound. Enough material for two whole albums has been produced so far and the number of songs is ever growing. Not afraid to be inspired by a broad range of styles and genres their songs are often praised for being original and with focus on good solid song writing rather than following a proven formula. Not only skilled in music their particular blend of dark and beautiful aesthetics tie all their work together as evident in their videos, lyrics and imagery. Joining the Myspace circuit, Hearts of Black Science grew into a small phenomenon with over 100 000 played songs in the first four months, a wide and devoted fan base, a steady selling self financed EP, airplay in various countries including USA, Mexico and England as well as a growing awareness through podcasts and webzines. Several labels have already approached the band and they’re currently in negotiations with two US labels. Given their unique range of influences and unapologetic style, the band has gained many loyal fans in a multitude of genres from goth, alternative, electronica to pop, shoegaze, industrial and even metal. As a live act Hearts of Black Science incorporates additional musicians to bring an even more intense dynamic to their show. Ever expanding and gaining support from fans and industry professionals around the world, Hearts of Black Science bring their unique and involving sound to the music scene of today.
