The Black Eyed Peas are an American hip-pop group from Los Angeles,California, who have enjoyed worldwide pop success. Formed in 1995 by will.i.am and apl.de.ap after the split of their previous group Atban Klann, a third rapper, Taboo, joined in 1996, with Fergie joining in 2002. Originally an alternative hip hop act, The Black Eyed Peas later transitioned into a hip-pop group with their 2003 breakthrough album "Elephunk", which has since sold over 8 million copies worldwide. The Black Eyed Peas have since sold over 20 million albums and singles worldwide.
