Their follow up "A Northern Soul" was praised heavily, depite being recorded under massive drug use. Afterward the band split up, but soon reformed to record their breakthough album "Urban Hymns". The band became big stars upon the strength of singles like "Bittersweet Symphony" and "The Drugs Don't Work". McCabe left the band while touring in 1998 and the band split for good in 1999. In 2007 the Verve announced they had reformed for a brief tour to be followed by a new album in 2008. « hide
