The Offspring have always been considered one of the most popular and influentinal punk-rock bands of the 90's. The band released two albums before the release of their 1994 classic breakthrough album 'Smash'. Four singles from that album, "Come Out and Play", "Self Esteem", "Gotta Get Away" and the radio-only "Bad Habit", helped The Offspring explode into a large mainstream success. Three years later, the band returned with their major-label debut 'Ixnay on the Hombre', which didn't match the success of the previous album, but did sell quiet well. 1998 saw the release of 'Americana' which was just as successful as 'Smash.' However Dexter Holland and the crew decided to take a more pop-punk direction and their music became more simple and poppy. The Offsprings music is now more radio friendly and recieved a lot of radio airplay in the mid 90's. In 2000 they released Conspiracy of One which included the single "Original Prankster". They last released Splinter in 2003, but will be back with their next album, Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, which is due for release in June 2008.
