The Farm is an alternative rock band from Liverpool, England that first formed in 1981. Originally going by the name of TheExcitements, the group
changed their name to The Farm in early 1983, and soon developed a cult following for their melodiousand brooding new wave sound. By 1990, the
group drastically changed their sound to a much more dancey tone, which wouldgo on to lay the foundation of the popular baggy/madchester sound
which would dominate the UK mainstream throughout theearly 1990's. The Farm would go on to release three moderately successful albums before
officially disbanding in 1996, afternearly two decades of activity. Starting in 2004, The Farm reunited to perform a few live shows, until officially
reuniting in 2012
