The Damned are a British punk rock band formed in 1976. Lacking a stable lineup with singer Dave Vanian remaining the sole constant, the band fell apart. Performing their first concert in London in July of 1976. The group quickly became a sensation, within a couple of months, the band signed with "Fledgling Stiff Records." Between 1985 and 1987 the Damned had a surprising number of Top 40 hits. By 1989 the band decided to split due to the decline of fanbase, however they are reformed today and still touring. « hide |
