The Absence

Among the recent influx of modern North American melodic death metal bands is The Absence. Brought together in late 2001 by a distaste for the demise of the once legendary Florida metal scene and a love for Scandinavian metal, riffs and melodies began to form. For two years the band opened for bands such as Mastodon, Six Feet Under, Cannibal Corpse, Immolation, Dark Tranquility, Nile, and others. Finally in 2005, the band graced the metal scene with their debut, From Your Grave.
