The lyrical focus for Storm on the Abyss is comprised with the elements of anguish, desolation, unexplainable paranormal anomalies, solitude, nature, and the dark tragedies of the American Civil War. Here is the bands description on their Myspace page: "Not much is known about the mysterious entities Nehushtan and Grumium. Some say that Nehushtan writhes in some remote bog somewhere in the northern forests of the Taiga, only surfacing at the turn of the new moon. Grumium is said to be agonizing in some unknown cave system hidden deep in the mountains, never slithering far from his dark and tormented abode. Then again, some say that the wretched duo are not even flesh and blood at all, but two miserable spirits that loom from beyond the veils of mist and moonlight." In early 2009, they began recording on their first full-length album titled Quintessence of the Lost Twilight. The two-disk album is comprised of 12 songs with a run time of about 144 minutes. In the fall of 2009 they finished recording their second release As the Last Embers Darken into Obscurity, 6 songs with about a 70-minute run time. In late 2009 they finished up recording a split album with the band Solemn Eternal. The split features one lengthy song called Marooned Upon Infinite Shores of Hopelessness. « hide
