Scratch Acid

Formed in Austin, Texas in 1982, Scratch Acid was originally made up of Steve Anderson on vocals, David Wm. Simson guitar, David Yow on bass, Brett Bradford on guitar, and Rey Washam on drums. However, Anderson was soonkicked out of the band before they even recorded an album. Yow then switched to vocals, and Sims switched tobass. Scratch Acid is easily described as an intense, grinding punk outfit. The band's first records were released onthe Texas independent label, Rabid Cat, whilst the last albums were released on Touch & Go. Although the bandnever reached mainstream success, they had a loyal fanbase in their hometown. The band broke up in 1987, andmembers went on to join bands such as Rapeman, the Jesus Lizard, Tad, and Ministry.
