"Os Resentidos" (thus named because it sounded similar to "The Residents") was an experimental band from Galicia, Spain.
Formed by avant-garde poet Antón Reixa, whose lyrics featured absurd humor and pop culture subversion, they hit the big time with their 1986 single "Fai un Sol de Carallo", which became a top-40 hit.
While their first album was obviously influenced by their beloved Residents, their latter efforts saw Reixa taking the band to more original ventures, mixing their original sound with Galician folk and Caribbean music.
Their satiric lyrics are almost always sung in Galician language.
None of the band members was a professional musician, and Reixa didn't know how to sing, so he rapped most of their songs.
