MASTER SLASH SLAVE started three years ago after the dissolution of Life In Braille, a 5-piece indie- prog group that Jones had been fine-tuning since high school. Working with David Weatherly, that band's drummer, Matt worked to create a mix of synth, drum machine and live instruments that would fill the spaces left by bass and rhythm guitar. The end result of this experiment became a distinct sound all its own. The release of their debut record SCANDAL is a heady mix of upbeat synth-pop and 60s garage histrionics, all wrapped around Jones' dark musings about drug dealers, prostitutes, divorce, social-network addiction and all sorts of other perverse obsessions.
