Lunic's most recent album, Future Sex Drama, is a blend of dark, ethereal synthpop and electro rock similar to Metric, The
xx,Lights, or Ladytron."Glossy enough for the dance floor but retaining that sinister edge." -CMJ
Page, born in upstate NY, attended university in Nashville, TN and moved to Los Angeles in 2003. Her experience as a
performerbegan as an electricviolinist and keyboard player in various LA-based pop/rock bands, most notably the Australian rock
bandPorcelain (Universal Records). Page beganwriting songsinearly 2005 after seeing the British alt. rock band Muse perform live
atCoachella Music Festival. In 2007 she relocated to London, andspent the next 7 years touring, traveling the world, writing
newmusic, & studying Spanish, French, & German. Much of the inspiration for her writingis derived from hertravels. Todate she
hasvisited 25 countries.
Her first release, in 2006, was a collection of piano-based alternative songs called The Uglylights (demos) LP, written &
recordedin California, followedquickly by the EP Splinter, recorded in London in just 3 days. They were followed up in 2009 by
Lunic’s firstfan-funded album Lovethief, written &recorded inupstateNY. In 2012, she released Future Sex Drama, a full-length
albumwritten & recorded in Germany & New York City, originallydescribed as “sultry, ethereal synthpop” by Lunic herself. She has
alsoreleased a plethora of digital singles over the years.
Lunic has shared the stage with artists such as Moby, PiL, Lights, Mindless Self Indulgence, Company of Thieves, Dredg, Meiko,
&Bell X1. Herperformance is, "a psychedelic display of lyric poetry in the form of an understated, powerful show." -TriState
Indie.In 2012, Lunic was the winner ofthePlanetRoxcompetition and was chosen as the US headliner for the Envol et-Macadam
festivalin Quebec City, Canada. In 2013 Lunic was theGrand Prize Winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest in the
ElectronicCategory for her song, "War." In 2014 she was a semi-finalist in the rockcategory of theInternationalSongwriting
Competition forher song, "Magic Love-Hate Thing." « hide |
