Kris Kross was a hip hop duo that formed in 1991. Consisting of emcees Daddy Mac and Mac Daddy, at the age of 14, the duo experienced extreme popularity when their debut single, 1992's "Jump", went two-times platinum, thus propelling their debut album "Totally Krossed Out" to sell an impressive amount of over 4 million copies. After their 1996 album "Young, Rich &Dangerous" was released (which was eventually certified gold), Kris Kross entered their first recording hiatus in 2000 when their label, Ruffhouse Records, disintegrated. Beginning in 2006, Kris Kross began performing live occasionally, most significantly performing in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the So So Def label in February of 2013. Later that May, Mac Daddy passed away at the young age of 34, thus putting an official end to Kris Kross. « hide |
