Juvenile

Juvenile is a rapper from New Orleans who had tremendous popularity in the late 1990's and early 2000's. Initially signed to the popular rap label, Cash Money Records, Juvenile was one of the main staple artists on the label, and helped bring the label to immense popularity during his time on the label, which spanned from 1997 through 2005. In 2006, he and the label parted ways, and Juvenile ended up signing to Atlantic Records, who released his "Reality Check" album, which eventually went gold. However, his 2009 follow-up album, "Cocky & Confident", became a commercial failure, and it only reached number 49 on the Billboard charts. The disappointing sales of the "Cocky & Confident" album had Juvenile dropped from the Atlantic label, and although he is not the chart-topper he was once a decade ago, he still has an impressive following, and is credited to being one of the pioneer artists of the New Orleans hip hop scene. « hide
