Joe Public is an R&B band from Buffalo that first formed in 1989. Part of the new jack swing Explosion in the early 90s, they were noticeably different in the sense that the members actually play their own instruments. Their best known single is 1992’s “Live and Learn”, which reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, as well as broke the top 10 charts in Belgium, Canada and the Netherlands. After rapidly declining success, Joe Public ended up dissolving by 1995, although the members would go on to work together over the years as songwriters for numerous popular R&B and pop stars.
