One of the greatest and most popular heavy metal bands to ever take the stage, Iron Maiden was formed in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris. After several lineup changes in the early 80s, a more or less stable line-up emerged. This classic line-up includes vocalist Bruce "Air Raid Siren" Dickinson, as well as twin lead guitarists Dave Murray and Adrian Smith, and Nicko McBrain on drums. Maiden pioneered the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement of the early 80s, distinguishing themselves from their peers with literary subject matter and considerable musical talent. They have recently released their fourteenth studio album, "A Matter of Life and Death," and continue a steady touring and recording schedule. More than three decades after its inception, Iron Maiden maintains a steady and fervent fanbase without the benefit of radio airplay or media saturation. Definitely worth a look
