Hobbledees is an alternative/folk-punk band from Japan that first formed in 1989. In 1992, the group became major and signedto Sony Music,
releasing a few singles and albums on that label until being dropped in 1995, presumably for poor sales. This ledto Hobbledees going on a hiatus in
late 1995, although the group was revived in 1999 with a five-member lineup instead of a triolike they once were. Hobbledees is still active today,
and, along with 16Tons, are considered to be one of the main pioneers ofthe Japanese folk-punk scene.
