Hailing from Conneticut, Fates Warning formed all the way back in 1983. They orginally were seen as just an Iron Maiden clone, wailing with Dickenson-like vocals, but with each passing album (since their debut Night on Brocken, in 1983), and all their numerous lineup changes, they developed a more progressive sound. By their 1986 relase Awaken the Guardian, Fates Warning had a foothold in the progressive metal genre. To this day, Fates Warning is often compared to the other monoliths of progressive metal, specifically Dream Theater and Queensryche . . .
