Crustified Dibbs was a hip hop project that first formed in 1991. Consisting of emcee R.A. and producer Niles (aka Nigga Niles), the group went major in 1993, with Crustified Dibbs signing to Jive and releasing two singles in 1994. The project seemed to be a tongue-in-cheek take on the then-newly rising horrorcore subgenre, complete with extreme over-the-top lyrics and a backstory of R.A. being a special education dropout. An album was supposed to be released as well later in 1994, “Night of the Bloody Apes”, but it was never officially released, and the Crustified Dibbs project ended up folding by 1996. R.A. would notably go on to become a legendary force in the underground rap circuit as R.A. the Rugged Man.
