Black Sheep got their major break from their single "Flavor of the Month", which was later featured on their debut 1991 album, A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing, which granted them significant praise. The album was highly rated, and fared well on the billboard charts. 1994 brought their second album, Non-Fiction. This album did poorly in sales, and had generally negative reviews. Shortly after, Black Sheep disbanded to pursue various solo projects. In 2000, the duo reunited, and quickly put out a single for the movie Once in a Life, in which Dres had a role in. Also in the year 2000, the group put out a relatively rare 12-inch EP, titled Redlight, Greenlight. Although the album was recorded in 2000, it wasn't until 2002 when the album was actually released. Upon it's released, it received no media attention, or advertisement. In 2006 Black Sheep put out and online-only album, titled 8WM/Novakane, which stands for "Women with Women with Weed with Wine with Me". Shortly after the release, Mista Lawnge left the duo. Despite Mista Lawnge's departure, Dres continues to keep Black Sheep alive. Although, no recent work has been done. « hide |
