Barbie was an electronic project from Sweden, created by Alexander Bard in 1984. Dressed in drag under the persona of Barbie Hitchcock, the project would garner a cult following across Europe for its outlandish style and sense of humor. In 1987, Bard folded the Barbie project, and he, along with two support members, Camilla and Jean Pierre Barda, would immediately then form the internationally popular group Army of Lovers.
