Antoinette Patterson, better known simply as Antoinette, is a rapper from NYC. An early female emcee, she is best remembered for her rivalry with pioneer MC Lyte, as well as her rapid style, which was often compared to Rakim and Big Daddy Kane. Despite releasing two albums and a few singles, Antoinette never crossed over to the mainstream, and she then retired from the rap scene by 1992. Although she retired from the rap scene, she did make a few rare appearances during the late 90s, before officially returning in 2014, and she has since released a few new songs, her first original recordings in over 20 years.
