Anorexia Nervosa started of as a death metal band called Necromancia who consisted of Stefan Bayle (guitar), Marc Zabé (guitar), Pier Couquet (bass), Nilcas Vant (drums) and Stéphane Gerbaud (vocals).
they produce there first demo cd called Garden of Delight in 1993.
But it isn't till 1995 when the band released there seconde demo called Nihil Negativum that Anorexia Nervosa got its place in the underground world.

after the release of Exil the band began to take a new direction after Stéphane Gerbaud (Vocals) and Marc Zabé (Guitar) left the band because of music differences.The band replaced then by Rose Hreidmarr (Vocals) and Neb Xort (Keyboard) who gave the band a style of music.
In 1999 the band recorded Sodomizing the Archedangel EP, this album was a preview of what was soon to comme from the band.
Soon afterwards they went back in the studios to record there second album Drudenhaus.This album brought a huge sucess to the band who wasreleased in 2000.
In 2001 they released New Obscurantis Order
In 2004 they released Redemption Process, and a year later de band came out with The September E.P. whitch feature director's cut of Sister September, three cover tracks and four live tracks.
On December 20, 2005, (Vocalist) Rose Hreidmarr quit the band who left the band with out a lead singer.
since then the band wasn't sucessfull to find a new lead singer
