Release Date: 2006 | Tracklist

Montreal's Mobile realeased their debut albulm April 18th, 2006, it was an awkward realease date. It wasn't a good time for releasing an albulm nor was it bad. It was just before the big bands released their albums in the summe. Although they are sort of a weird band, because not many bands move from Montreal to Toronto, as the Montreal music scene is becoming more popular. They aren't a weird band musically though, they sound like a lot of things I've already have heard.

Hands Tied-- There is an interesting intro to this song at first, it sounds interesting. Then, Mat starts singing, it actually sounds bad at the beginning. After you get used to his tone of voice it sounds normal. The Guitar during the chorus sounds really good, fits the song really well. The verse gets boring after a little while, and the song is a little repetitive. It is a fairly good opener though. 3/5

New York Minute-- This song sort of sounds like the last one, the beat is really good, it gets you to tap your feet. The chorus is really good on this song as well, the bridge is a nice change of pace too, but not for long. This is a solid song, chorus is catchy, that's all you really need for a decent song. Could of done with a bit more work on the ending though. 3.5/5

Out of My Head--The drums sound really fitting for this song, it's a good intro, not too long not too short. The verse isn't bad either, the chorus is good too. The strongest part of this song is the outro, it's a great way to end the song. A pretty good choice on the second single. 3.5/5

Montreal Calling--I think probably one of the strongest songs on the albulm, a very good first single. The pre chorus is the highlight of this song, it has been stuck inside my head since the single was released. The bridge is alright, again strongest part is the pre chorus. This song compelled me to by the album. 4/5

See Right Through Me-- I believe this will be the third single, although I don't want it to be. It is a great song, except there is something about I don't really like about it, it just gets boring for me. Except for that, it is a great song, strong verse, strong chorus, it is a strong song, just goes on for a little too long. 3.8/5

Looking Out-- People may find this song catchy, I just can't stand it. It starts off well, the verse is very catchy, but then comes the part i hate. I can't stand the chorus, it sounds very corny, his voice gets annying to me. The best part of this song is the verse, the chorus could of done with a lot more work. The bridge is annoying too, I always skip this song. 2.7/5

Scars--This should be the third single, it is a really good song. It is on the softer side, I think third singles should be softer. His voice sounds very good in this song, it fits the song. Although this topic is a little overwritten about (suicide), a very sensitive topic, but too many people write about it. Put all of the aside still a great song. 4.3/5

Dusting Down the Stars-- My favourite song on the albulm, either the last song or this song should be the third single. It is soft, once again, but it sounds really good. You can feel the song build up to the chorus, and i expeted an upbeat chorus, but there wasn't. That was a good choice though, it sounds really good, shows Mat's vocal talents. 4.5/5

Tomorrow Starts Today-- The title track, I think they chose the albulm name to be this because it sounds pretty cool. It's definately not because this is the best song on the abulm. I had high exectations for this track, it didn't live up to it, but still a strong song. The chorus is catchy, that's about it. 3.7/5

How Can I Be Saved-- This song really stood out to me, partly because this song starts out fast. It slows down later, but picks up the pace again. Nothing too special about this song, it's just a really good song. The highlight is the outro, very good ending. 4/5

Lovedrug-- At first, I found this song very boring, eventually it grew on me though. Still not an amazing song, but it's still pretty good. I expected the chorus to be fast, but i was surprised again, it was slow. This chorus probably should have been fast. Not a bad song. 3.3/5

Bleeding Words-- The closing track, takes a little while to get started, but it sounds good. I thinks these last two songs have been the slowest songs on the albulm. This isn't a great closing track, by far the longest track, but it should have been shorter. It gets boring to me at the end. 3.5/5

Overall, this albulm is pretty good, a good debut not amazing though. They didn't set the bar too high for their sophmore albulm, if they make one. That is a good thing, because they may blow us away with their next. I think they should change their style a little bit, too many people are doing the retro thing. There are a couple of filler tracks, but they aren't that bad. I only skip two songs when i listen to this. I suggest to go out and buy it if you like The Killers, they aren't as good as The Killers, but they are up there. It's a great deal too, only $10.00 (plus tax, Can.).

These guys are always on Much Music, i've only heard the first single, and it was alright, but I wouldn't consider buying the album based on it. And since you said they aren't better than the Killers, than really won't be getting this, even if its opinion.

The review was decent/good, maybe some more detail. But how is the release date a weird date? and how are the band weird too?
oh yeah, add the cover art too

The release date was weird because, usuallly artists/bands release their albulm in the summer, or at the beginning of the summer. This one was in the middle of spring, it could have been a smart move though, considering they avoided bigger releases from other Canadian bands like Billy Talent and Three Days Grace. The band isn't weird, but they are different, since they moved from Montreal, whil most bands move to Montreal because of the music scene. I dont know how to add the cover, I'm sort of new, I just joined last night, so if anyone could fill me in I'd appreciate it.This Message Edited On 06.16.06

Tom's going all out with the smileys :p

From what I've heard, this band isn't really atrocious but they're not my cup of tea.

Montreal Calling rocks, but Dusting Down the Stars is the best track for sure.
