Review Summary: The cripples that once crossed highways are now creating vicious industrial music.

What can one say about the music of Haz Doble? It is as confusing and impenetrable as the psyche of its creator. Known for his interests in video games, philosophy, history, deviant behavior, art, cinema, and psychology, the man is a true messiah of the information age.

While his early project Cripples Crossing Highways was a rather hapHAZard conglomeration of samples and unlistenable noise, it showed occasional promise of a greater potential. His one-off project Grumblecunt hinted at the same unrealized talent.

Jenny Hates The TV, an EP from his latest project Romance, starts off with the expected swell of random noises, before kicking into the massive groove that is Cosmonaut. The melding of these samples with tight drum loops and happy melodies takes influence from acts like Pink and Yellow, but takes these influences to unexplored and awkward territories.

The album slows down with The North Pole, as the listener takes a breather before being exposed to Pavlovna Fedorovna, an epic in the style of Harry's favorite first wave industrial acts.

The closing piece Languid is a hate-filled burst of noise evocative of Wolf Eyes, The Locust and Mindless Self Indulgence.
This EP proves that you can not hold down the growing musical force that is Haz Doble.
