Review Summary: Eisley are a lovely bunch, a Punky band, a Dorky girl band, or a Pop rock just not good at all.
The band is popular, "Room Noise" is a quintet’s 2005 debut a debut album for Reprise Records.
Eisley, the group has four siblings and a close family friend. The oldest sisters, Chauntelle and Sherri DuPree, start instrument and sing songs at the ripe old ages of 15 and 13. Stacy at 8-years-old, rejected by the band from her older sisters. The only male sibling of the band is Brother Weston. The final member of the band is bassist, who is the original (Jonathon Wilson) a long time best friend, born on 1983. He joins Eisley in December 2001. He lives all over the world including Hawaii, Germany, Albania and San Diego. He speaks German. He listens to Radiohead, Coldplay, Jimmy Eat World, Portishead, Weezer, The Cranberries, and The Flaming Lips. His talent doesn’t last long.
The now 22 eldest Chauntelle is the lead guitarist, Sherri is a pretty vocal and rhythm guitar, youngest Stacy takes keyboard and vocal, Weston is the drummer, Garron is the newest addition bassist replaced Jon Wilson, their neighbors.
The band has two previous E.P.'s both successful: "Telescope Eyes" and "Marvelous Things". They have lots of concerts and critical acclaim before this debut. Many songs exclusively not from the debut album are Mr. Pine, Laughing City, Sleepy Head, Head Against the Sky, Blackened Crown, Dream For Me, Over the Mountains, Tree Tops, Silver Bug, some good some not, “Telescope Eyes” had two versions, it is a single for the first break through.
It is a Christianality theme, it is fictional, but no religion in the music, it is Okay, it is funny, do you need some coffee from a Christian coffee shop? Nothing hints from Christianity, so does not preach hints, instead the band substitute the first-love sentiment in the lyrics, it sites for a relationship with God, but it’s more like a burning campfire in times bores to ashes and it is easy to sing along, it’s no shit when it turns to hardcore rock simplicity only of love.
It is funnier to find out they play music at the DuPree house, openly bunch up stereo sound, and attract by many neighbors. It is the life of the band’s teenager years pump themselves out to world, the music is their life, the surrounding is their brick – clip – influence, the band is the first- love – coffee – house, so who do they cite for inspiration? Eisley mostly inspired by Radiohead, gushes over and admits they like classic rockers such as the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Bob Dylan.
It goes funnier to understand Tolkien and C.S. Lewis inspire the lyrics, and they are an evident semblance. That’s magic. What is good about the words? They are not nonsense, they are a source, but why do you like to listen to Eisley? They’re original, fun, and new, attractive. Their sound is urban outlandish.
Eisley, their music style is what? Charming, cool, holly, grace, magical; they are pop, infused, folk and alternative. So do you believe God? Christianity, fantasy, love, it sounds like angels send you to some forbidden yet friendly places somewhere. The songs are childlike idealisms and quiet optimism, pace onto a sporty authenticity, sexy peace, and lullaby rock, good pop and refreshing alternative. The band takes themselves easy, walks thorough their debut album, it is the ice on the cake. They rock but they dream about sunshine, pollen and meadows, so what is Eisley? They rock nonsense. Or, they lyrically nonsense?
The band name, “Eisley” originated from the Star Wars, Mos Eisley is the spaceport on Tatooine. Chauntelle says Mos Eisley is like a different planet. That’s what their music is. Different and alternative.
It starts out first by song, Memories -
“dreary birds parade across the dreary sky but down below
the woman absent mindedly begins to sow, how she sows
the seeds her husband loved so much, but
he's no longer here with us”
Eisley starts a piano driven ballad, a drumming strong rock alternative, next a yet not overwhelming rock hyper drive. (It works out pretty well with the band’s overall style) It starts slowly then sudden change of pace rock high off the ground.
Stacy and Sherri have a beautiful duet each other, turns on the volume, powers their way through the melody. The song features a woman who loses her husband, lives a symbolic life in a farm, in a place where her husband once scatters the seeds before he dies, she loves him until the end. It is the memories, so it goes the ballad, it is a way to start the first single in the album.
Telescope Eyes –
Strong loud guitar opens the song following by piano. It is about a typical teen not wanting to date someone who is different. It talks about a girl who accepts, cheats, mocks, tricks and traps, do all sorts of things to fall to the popular kid she is in love with at school. Does not care he is not the one for her. In the end, he doesn’t accept her, so she asks for tolerance. Simple thing can become intricate. A teenager story is in sense entertaining in rock culture. The song rocks higher, the tempo changes, the piano solo passes, until it gets deep, it is the end. That’s a good song, it does not fade away.
It’s a bit less adventurous with the lyrics, Eisley keeps the song catchy and loud and meaningful, it does sound good with a loud pop-rock sound. Very saddening story, but that doesn't weaken the song, the strong verse and loud drum and rock vocal beats the sadness, it goes along. It sounds like a sweet surrender, soft seduction, pop sensation, and teen nation, (A teen fantasy that is strange, ideal, and young), (An adult alternative rock that is soft, nonsense, hardcore), it is good rock, I like the music but not too much on the lyrically sense of teen love.
Golly Sandra – It is an upbeat song, it opens with a pounding drum. Eisley comes onto it, a strong, nice, hot,

where you know that I’ve always loved you
and I’ll go without stopping
oh you are my star
and that's not really far
hey, hey”
The drum beat continues throughout, it is a welcome sight.
It is about Sandra has grown up to be both crazy and beautiful, you'd believe it is a love song, she sings to someone named "Sandra." – “Only like I love Sandra,” It’s gay, well, maybe they're friends, or, they had sex. Hey, that’s plain wrong, Sounds like so be it, they like it but it doesn’t seem like this way. You must respect the musical lyrics. It is innocent. The music is a country stylish sound to it.
Lost At Sea – is a natural song. It has more of a folk music feeling to it for me. It is a combination of the love of nature and a human love affair.
Just Like We Do –
“and we still see through their
plain-shifted laughs
we'll hold the hands of sinners
and then we will pass
is a beautiful harmony and guitar,”
I listen to the piece, the song funks up and it sounds like techno music, but it sucks. It starts a lovely acoustic guitar with vocals from Sherri.
The melody in background is loudly entertaining throughout, but the lyrics are once again a letdown, it sucks but it sounds good. It is another plain love song, Eisley uses a bit of fantasy once again, the bridge is so touching, and she admits the lyrical verses are not perfect, (It means it is stupid, it is different, it is impossible, but it is shit) However the lyrics shall live to the hype “Dawn of James Blunt song” – (new James Blunt album) Something like, “I shall not grow up” – but Something shall live beautifully – like a flower, it hopefully lasts long, and it looks beautiful. It is good melody, mix lyric, fantasy story in story; Beautiful dawn – their love ones shall live – beautiful life – good times. It is Just (a song) Like (I) Do listen to, not a song I will always listen to, so Just Like We Do, is a song allures their fans to get into their music Just Like They Do.
One Day I Slowly Floated Away –
“and in the corner chair, soft and soap-scented
my darling cries apologies
we foresee the mercy that's been shown
my own limbs will not go unthanked or unseen”
A rock-piano ballad drives in after an interesting tune, lyrically flows carefully to a line, as if a melody bypass with even strength and motion, (it’s a peace and happiness) Stacy and Sherri's harmony gives to the comeliness of the song, yet, it is a good drum beat in the background, backup in a soft ballad.
The song is about Sherri, she is in love with an officer in the war. He hopes not to die, for he wants love Sherri forever. He is shot by the bullet hits his radio. They awe their luck to the thankfulness.
Marvelous Things - The song is a dream, it wishes and creates a quiet world, a puzzle word, a lively feel and a likable belief. The lyrics is strange but passionate,
"I awoke the dawn, saw horses growing out the lawn
I glimpsed a bat with butterfly wings"
The song celebrates life, it begins the world around us.
Brightly Wound – It is simple, it has love words, lyrically music and expressive feat, the ideas express loneliness, and they are all beautiful. Look at the opening lyrics:
"It's happening all the time when I open my eyes I'm still taken by surprise” Things happens, it is good, now, “And it makes me want to cry I love you" That shows loneliness, obsession, intensity, but it gives away expression of happiness, it is different. It is a beauty of nature; it doesn't often appear in urban landscapes.
I Wasn't Prepared - and Plenty of Paper - are the other songs in the album, they are slow pacing and deep moving.
Plenty Of Paper – the song sounds like a bunch of paper, a gift of paper. Large Amount of Paper! All yeah, paper, more paper. Listen to “stuck a piece to my hair” I stuck by a piece of paper, I don’t understand this part of the lyrics, it is stupid, childish, vast, and cosmic. “I cut the moon in half and stuck a piece to my hair, “ Funny lyrics, and “It made the back of my head glow golden-yellow… I took ten stars on sticks” She cut the moon, takes the stars, it makes it so romantic, (Moon, My Better Half, Moon, My Piece of Hair, Moon, My planet? Or, Star, My planet?) What is funny about the lyrics? It’s moon, it’s star, it’s planets, it goes on and on, (things change) Saturn, Satellite, Solar System, Milky Way, Universe? Moon is small symbolic, it does not have the range of (Milky Way), it does not stupefy in the lyrics, but it is female, girlish, not literal, and it is romantic and cool. Then, the lyric goes, “While I'm gone.” It gives me a direction to listen to 3 Doors Down – “When I’m Gone” it is better song. It is more hardcore rock.

Sherri and Stacy voices in harmony, but for the most part, peace is their theme. They split the vocal in parts, it highlights their vocals. The instruments are on the percussion sound, female vocals, drumbeats, and guitar rhythms. That’s the last song in the album, slow and deep and peaceful, (sometimes an album rocks right from the beginning, then progress to slow pace, the bottom half of the album sound like acoustics) the hit singles are the first two songs of the album, then it goes off less and less alternative-rock.
Eisley is from Texas, the first stage of wide spotlight is the opening for Coldplay in 2003. They follow up the success of their 2003 EP “Marvelous Things”. The band is extraordinary, they infuses the music, makes the music rich, their style is imagery, fashion, and urbane. The musical elements are gripping, but they are funny, soft romantic, slow pleasing, I don’t like the lyrics when they don’t make sense. Eisley grasps the spirit of memory and longing, they lives in dreams in songs, they are lovely. They linger with joy and happiness, fade with death and sadness.
The similar stylish bands to (so-sky-rock) Eisley are Bright Eyes, Tegan & Sara, Gratitude, Rooney, Spoon, Cursive, and the Stills. The sky is the rockers, sea is the lyrics, voices are talents, and so in love with the music, now so sky rock band, can they make another album better? A lovely bunch Eisley, do they lyrically misleading? A Punky rocker band, a Dorky girl band, or a Pop rock is not good at all.
