Review Summary: suffer bastard

For some reason a lot of people on this site see Fear Factory as non-elite false untrue bitch metal, if you are one of these fags then stop reading here or pucker the *** up, as i am about to roger your rear quarters. This band, and especially this record is very important to the genre, as this was the first album to mix death growls and clean vocals, which as you know countless ***ty bands ripped off, but seriously you cant blame these dudes for that. If not that then you probably know them for making such weak ass songs as linchpin and back the *** up, well let me tell you right the *** now that this album is nothing like their nu metal inspired queef Digimortal, this is real ***ing death metal. This album is much rawer than its successors, theres no perfect dead stops or other gay protools bull***, just like it should be. The raw production really adds to atmosphere and as a result this is p ***in dark. The opener Martyr doesnt *** about, featuring a heavy as *** main riff and a groovey ass drum beat THAT YOU CAN DANCE TO. The song Crash Test features a ***ing aweosme intro which i used as my ringtone for many years when i had a phone, and friends. Dino riffs like a true cunt, while he doesnt do anything especially amazing with his left hand, his right is a ***ing machine gun, it should also be said that this was one of the first albums to synch up the trems and bass drums, which as you know is also used by every metal band now so yea pay your respects to this ***ing band they did a lot bitches. Burtons lungs are ***ing awesome here, his voice is deeper and you can tell he was really pissed off with the government, or with dino and as a result, they are more ***ing dm than back here hard. He sounds quite a bit like justin broadrick of godflesh which is awesome. Raymond Herrerais a ***in machine, it would be hard to find a better set of legs for the job, he is surely one of the best double bassers ever and not only that, on this album he even busts out some winter blasts, hope to see you back soon bro. The bass is pretty much non existent apart from a few little sections, Christian olde Wolbers wasnt in the band at this point anyway so *** it. For the most part the album follows a pretty mid paced tempo, if you find this rather tiresome then just wait till you get to Desecrate, probably the most traditional death metal song on the album and also the most brutal. The drums are ***ing insane on this track, the blast beats in the verse just how talented Raymond really is and it also shows that even though he can blast with the best of them, he chooses not to because hes too strong and smart!

While Fear Factory went on to make more successful and perhaps better albums such as Demanufacture and Obsolete, this remains the most innovative and important. Taking influence from Ministry, Godflesh and even Napalm Death, they added it all into the cauldron of hate and then added their own unique spices into the mix which in turn created this true fist of an album. ***.
