Release Date: 2011 | Tracklist

Review Summary: Following up her solo, The Bad Wife, Julie Christmas continues to release solid content.

So not too long after releasing her debut, Julie has come back with 2 more vicious tracks that she recorded with John LaMacchia, guitarist for Candiria. Though only 2 tracks, her latest package clocks in with 11 minutes, 7 seconds of blistering wrath. Julie uses this time to great effect by not dilly-dallying around with anything fancy. Starting with “Spread for Hiding” she gets straight to the point with her signature insane, sludgy madness. There’s nothing atypical here, just Julie’s crazed wailing and moody singing on top of a dense riff.

“He” contains about the same dynamics, not really doing anything unusual (well, as far as she is concerned, anyway). I will say, however, there is something about “He” that is more intense that much of her work. Whether it is the fact that she relies on her screaming and shouting through the whole song, or the maniacal chanting she does towards the end of the song, the song packs quite a punch.

No, Julie Christmas’ latest release isn’t anything different, but she is doing what she does best, ripping your ears to shreds and messing with your mind at the same time. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I figured with 11 minutes of content, it constitutes as much of an EP as a hardcore EP would at 5 minutes long. Just a quick write-up, nothing fancy here.

The package can be previewed and purchased here:

To be honest I much prefer Unsane's coextinction release, but this is also cool.

This is the most awful piece of shit I have ever read in my life.

Mein Kampf was better than this.
