Jason Jones isn't near the lead singer as Dave Williams was, but he didn't do a bad job here. I find him better than Ryan McCombs whom I've never liked with Drowning Pool. Soil sucks hard too.

Another ferocious and solid effort by Drowning Pool. It's not flawless. It's not Pantera. It's not the best Drowning Pool album. But it sure is a great album, packed with angst, anger, rage, skull-crushing brutallity and crunching heaviness.

ah drowning pool what can i say.
drowning pool is a heavy metal band who you will like wether you like metallica or slipknot, they are the band to go to. in a world where emo bands are taking over its nice to know we can count on a band like drowning pool to release an album like desensitized that keeps things heavy.
desensitized has it all from monster riffs to very good brutal vocals from jason jones.
1 THINK: think is a great opener and really gets the album going well.
2 STEP UP: just the right song for when I'm in a angry mood, the vocals and guitars always get me going and I can listen to it over and over without getting sick of it
3 NUMB: is my least favorite song so I usually skip it but it is still good by DPs standard, which of course is high
4 THIS LIFE: probably my favorite on the album. I don't know why I just really love it, I recomend it
those are the first 4 tracks on this amazing album but certainly not the last. Hopefully my review is a good sample of the album to make you want to try it.
it really is one of the best albums around and one everyone should try. And with that cover, who could resist? *wink wink*

it's a shame the death of the first vocalist, but i don't think the perfomance of 'gong in this recording is bad...

From an unjustified stance, Desensitized looks, sounds, and feels far more hollow than its predecessor - which was, for Drowning Pool back then, some sort of ironic accomplishment especially in regards to what happened to Dave Williams. However, is this album absolutely horrendous because I'm saying it is, or is it terrible because perhaps the record itself was needlessly rushed? The bottom line is that this wasn't a proper stylistic change for this quartet at the time.

It just seems to me to out of Drowning Pool character (that they established on Sinner and continued with their latest 2 albums). Not to mention alot of the songs just seem to lack any form of what I'm wanting to hear.
