Review Summary: Overall a very good album, starting with 3 great songs. The next three are somewhat uninspired and compared to similar songs from Rory's other albums,it would be nice to put only one of these on the album. The remaining songs are very good and when the album

This album made me a fan of Gallagher some months ago.Clearly not his best effort, but with some great songs.I will review the edition with the bonus tracks.

THE SONGS:
01)Let Me In
A great opener with a killer riff sets the mood for the album. The songs starts off with the riff and the drums and bass coming in shortly after.Guitar solos are the highlight in this track along with the riff.4/5

02)Cross Me Off Your List
Beautiful rythm in this one.A great riff again with Rory mimicking his guitar.A great solo, chorus and in whole an amazing song.It might one of the best in this album,if not the best. 5/5

03)Ain't Too Good
A great song again, with good singing by Rory, and a tight compination of electric and acoustic guitars. The solo again is mesmerizing, fitting with the mood of the song perfectly.5/5

04)Souped-Up Ford
A slide-dominated song starting with a fast rythm and getting into a boogie rythm with a running time of 6:33 minutes. If you're not into this kind of songs, you might get bored quickly.3.5/5

05)Bought An Sold
A better song than the previous one with a slide again,a nice solo, generally a good song.3.5/5

06)I Take What I Want
A nice riff,a fun song to listen to with the riff repeating its self many times.3/5

07)Lost At Sea
A nice song once again with great melody and solos and a bit different than the previous three, which makes the song even better when you listen to the album as a whole.4/5

08)All Around Man
A very good slow blues similar in style with 4,5,6 from this album but it is the weakest song on the album.3/5

09)Out On The Western Plain
A great acoustic song with a beautiful melody.Different from the other songs it gets a 4/5

10)At The Bottom
A nice, relaxed song with a nice melody in it and well-written solos(as for every solo in this album).4/5

Bonus Tracks:

11)Cluney Blues
A very good blues instrumental with a nice feel and is the shortest song on the album at 2:13.3.5/5

12)My Baby,Sure
A fitting end to this album with a nice rythm and melody.3.5/5

Props for making your first review a Rory Gallagher album. Rory needs more love on this site.

The review could have been a lot better but I won't neg cos it's your first. In future perhaps try and avoid track-by-track reviews and instead review the album more as a whole, addressing the overall feel of the album a bit more.

If you do decide to stick to this format you should probably go into a lot more detail about each song, perhaps by mentioning the lyric content as well as the music, and also think about adding a conclusion of some kind at the end.

Just a few things to think about for your next review.
