Review Summary: Broomfield Colorados finest Electro Acid Pop-Core!

In case you havn't heard, the Broomfield Colorado music scene is being dominated right now by Golden Ashes. They can be classified as Pop Punk, Alt Rock, but they prefer to be described as Electro Acid Pop. So here it is, the first review of their unreleased demo, that only have a few rough copies circling around. It was recorded during one of their practice sessions and is pretty impressive. So here's the track by track, the ep starts out with a slower ballad, "Not Your Cup Of Tea" which is written about a rival bands lead singer who shall go unnamed. It features a slow litle three chord progression with some fairly deep lyrics about what exactly the aforementioned lead singers cup of tea really is. And on top of that there's a barbershop quartet type vocal intro that rocks hard!

The next song is "***wad" and is more of a straight up Pop Punk style song. The guitar playing consists mainly of a few power chords that blend perfectly with the in your face vocals of lead singer Dalton Rupp, who's lyrics in this song consist mainly of him yelling "F uck you!!!" over and over again. During the choruses lead guitar Connor Pierce switches things up a bit with a faster, palm muted power chord progression. With all of this going on, Drummer Zach Bingham and bassist Zane Garcia keep the rythms tight and balance the song out well.

Track three is a much more experimental track called "Robot City" and shows a very different side to the band. All four band members join in a chant of "We live in the Robot City! We're chasing the Robot Dream!" while a dramatic keyboard intro by Rupp sets the mood for the rest of the song. A palm muted and slightly distorted guitar buildup leads to another group chant chorus. The song is not for everyone, but may be worth checking out if your in to more progressive stuff.

The fourth track is called "Santa Stole" and features the best lyrics of any of the songs here. Its basically a song featuring only guitar and vocals, both performed by Connor Pierce. The song tells the story of someone who has their virginity stolen by santa on christmas. One of the saddest most touching songs of the year.

So if your in need of some good Electro Acid Pop check out Golden Ashes, good luck trying to find any recordings of them though as they're not uploaded on the internet yet.

I doubt that they will end up uploading this considering it's basically a recorded practice session, although I believe they are working on a demo.

This exercise in vanity and self-promoting is not only dreadfully self indulgent and short but also features terrible grammar and is a track by track, which makes it even less professional. Have a neg

What the fuck does electro acid popcore sound like? It just sounds like a silly label that you invented to differentiate your band from others, like Dragonforce calling themselves super power metal

You clearly have no idea what your talking about. I have been a resident in Broomfield for quite some time. Golden Ashes has legitimate music that has a unique style unlike most Electro Acid Pop, which is a famous genre btw.

No, it's not. Rather, it's an amalgamation of genres that sounds invented. Also, you're clearly either in the band or are newjunkaesthetic93 because the odds of you both living in Broomfield are pretty low
