Review Summary: Heavy as hell. The single phrase that sums up this EP.

Integrity for over two decades has been productive in the art of aggression. Only one look at the artwork one can see the mindset of Integrity. It is a raging bull trapped in the year 1985, chasing after a long since shattered iron curtain. They are determined to wipeout the invisible red menace and it seems they have no signs of slowing down.

There are only two tracks upon this EP but the two tracks are headlong charges into Integrity oblivion. Both start with a melodic riff before building into breakneck aggression, a speed that is varied throughout both songs monstrous, crunching riffs. Over this Dwid Hellions' vocals dominate in typical tyrannical form. However the first song is hampered by a needless acoustic bridge to end the song. It is just a bridge to nowhere.

The second track, Mirrors In Reverse, is the real highlight of this EP. The drums are intensive enough to shatter the listener's spine and provide lead weight to already heavy guitar riffs. The streamlined structure allows for the bass to reign free, saving it from being buried behind the drums. It provides a deep rumble within the slower sections to a mournfal toll that interplays with the drums to dictate and stabilise the aggression of the riffs. It is through all this that Dwid's voice rises above, it is his vocal performance that provides the delivery for the ire that is whipped up. His vocal range changes from bestial shouts to doom-drenched growls to distorted screams. The distortion harks back to dictators of old making speeches to their unwilling populace. A little moment of nostalgia for the listener as the distortion and shouting stabs and pummels them in the ears in equal measure before everything winds down to a doomed prophesy.

You can download this off their myspace and HolyTerror.com or buy it in a CD from a389 records(www.a389records.com/ A389 Records). Either way it would be best advised to keep this away from children as if they listened to this the doomed prophecy might just come true...

Nah, dude, it would probably be better for you to leave in. It's related to the album and might preempt any questions.

You're going to do Starkweather?! Awesome. You should stick with great 90's hardcore/metal. Disembodied?

Vocalist from Rorschach you say? I'm all over that. Definitely check out Disembodied. Possibly the heaviest hardcore band I've ever heard.

Yeah, drums are a bit odd, that's what keeps this from being a 4.0 for me. I loved this EP when it first came out.
