Desolated is a pretty unknown band from the UK, but seriously these guys are easily among the ranks of the frontrunners of deathcore alongside Through The Eyes of The Dead, Suffokate, Carnifex, etc. The album is full of infectious chugging riffs and an excellent vocal performance. The production is great for a relatively unknown band, really clean. A major crutch with this band is definitely their dissonant breakdowns which really seem like filler. The great thing about this is though, the songs really don't drag on for too long and the breakdowns aren't much of a distraction. Overall, I see these guys getting signed to a big label like Sumerian and releasing their breakthrough sophomore album on that label. Great debut though regardless.
