3.0 good | ajcollins15 | March 16th 24 | Slow Hollows' latest record sees the LA-based band revisiting the successful sound they cultivated in 2015, characterized by heavy-hitting and booming slacker rock and indie rock vibes. While the album draws influence from indie rock legends like The National, the group strives to carve out a unique and straightforward musical style. However, "Bullhead" falls short of reaching the heights it aspires to. Many songs feel unfinished or too brief to leave a lasting impact. Nonetheless, I remain eager to see what direction the band takes next, given the inherent enjoyment in their style.
