its a brand new album (released last tuesday) this is aerosmiths first album doing blues.

Thiks is the newest release by this great, classic rock band. after two, less that stellar album releases (Nine Lives, Just Press Play) the band decided they needed to release a new album, a harder hitting, back to the roots, kind of a record.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS ALBUM

I was never a huge fan of the blues, but this album mixed hard rock and the blues and created a good atmosphere for me. this album got me strated off on the right foot. I like the intensity of the songs, and I like the song selection for this album.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THIS ALBUM

As said above, I enjoyed the intensity of this album, but I didn't find the consistency that great. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the whole album, but some songs, in my opinion, could have been done much better, or set at a better pace, then they were. I said before, this CD is stated to be Aerosmith does the blues, and the music fits this theme very well, but Tyler's vocals leave a lot to be desired. It's like he's too into the hard rock vocals, and can't bring it down a notch. It's enjoyable, but not what I expected.

MY OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE ALBUM

This album delivers what it promises--The Blues, done aerosmith style. A nice combination of hard rock and blues (with blues being the main driving force) My only complaint, and it is a minor one, is that Steven Tyler's vocals aren't suited for blues. They're perfectly suited for old school Aerosmith's hard rocking ways. Having hard rock vocals over "hard-blues" music works for most of the album, but there are some instances (no specific ones) whereit doesn'ty work for him. It doesn't grate on the ears, but it doesn't sounds beautiful either.

SONGS TO LOOK OUT FOR

In my opionion, the best songs on the album are:
-1-Road Runner--solid music, great vocals, great song
-4-Baby, Please Don't Go--catchy tune, nice music, excellent/refined vocals. (favourite song on the cd)
-5-Never Loved a Girl--this is a lot slower, and less attractive a song (upon first listen) than the others, but after a while, it grew on me, and I really enjoy it.
-8-The Grind--another great tune to follow, and an all around good song
-9-I'm Ready--A great, catchy tune, solid basslines etc. make this song onme of the best on the cd

after putitng out 2 lacklustre albums in a row, Aerosmith bounce back nicely with this release. Although not their best, this is one of my favourite albums of the last few years, and in my top 3 favourite Aerosmith cds. (I have about 8 cds by this band now)

Its Just Push Play

the grind is a really good song

well a lot of people dint noticed, aerosmith HAD ALWAYS BEEN doin blues-hard-rock-style every now and then, until the release of their last 2 albums. Their albums had always a few classic blues songs, whether its written by them or doing covers. This new album is just ALL rock-blues. In an interview Joe Perry said the had actually wanted to do an all-classic blues album, but they thought that blues have their respective performers, and they are a rock band. So they decided to do bluesdone aerosmith-style. yea.

I bought this album, listened to it once, and I haven't listened to it since. It's not that I hate it, it's just not consistent enough to keep me listening. I haven't really liked an Aerosmith album since Rocks.

this is a great album i think. probably my favorite album of the new millenium.

Why is this in the "Rock" section. This is a blues album through and through.

Nine Lives was far from lackluster, it shit's all over this snoozefest of repetitive blues, I really wanted to like this album, but I even like the cheesy Poppy Just Push Play better, at least Just Push Play had one perfect song like Jaded on it. This had nothing but averageness thrown together in an effort to capture some of the old fanbase who thought Aerosmith had gone too 'Pop' as been as their not raging junkies and it's not 1970 anymore. Saying that I love Aerosmith circa 1973-1985 far more than Aerosmith circa 1987-Present, It used to be the other way round when I was a kid, nevermind, looking foward to the next album in '08.
