Review Summary: I’m a nerd.

I fully expected an unlistenable album when I saw the art of this EP. I was prepared for anime girls chirping at me, and hyper-psycho sounds, with beats that sounded like my dishwasher on fast forward. Instead, I was greeted with cheery, pleasant trance/house/pop, which was anime as Hell, but not irritating in the least. This is the latest EP from a group which creates music faster than cities raise gas prices. This EP is host to covers of Touhou (if you know you know) songs, and a couple original songs, and here’s the thing: every song is fun as ***.

Three minutes is the typical length of tracks, and those minutes disappear quickly. A couple tracks have that Sword Art Online type of pop rock but electronic music is the main theme. When I discovered the EP was mainly comprised of cover songs it was hard to believe, the music is fleshed out enough to fit the main artist’s ADHD electronic, anime style like a glove. The multiple singers give great performances here, surprisingly nice for anime regurgitation. Every song is catchy and I have returned a bunch of times to this EP because it is quite enjoyable.

With the EP being done as quick as it is, all it can really give the listener is an enjoyable sugar rush, but I will not downplay that effect. For an EP based on Touhou cover songs (which seems to be DiGiTAL WiNG’s specialty), it does not disappoint or feel like a cheap gimmick. The type of house/trance music here has been created since the dawning of man, but it gives strong nostalgic vibes. However, you won’t catch me uploading this artist’s entire, vast discography to Sputnikmusic; I have a life y’know. If you’re looking for a bit of weebish fluff, look no further.

The most surreal part of all this is how the first sentence was the first thing I thought too
