Review Summary: TikTok feminist "metal" gone wrong

Scene Queen's EP, Bimbocore, is a prime example of TikTok-label approved feminism gone terribly wrong. This overhyped project tries to blend nu-metal and trancecore elements, but the result is an abomination that should have never seen the light of day. From start to finish, Bimbocore is a sonic disaster that makes you question the state of the music industry.

Let's start with the vocal style of Scene Queen herself. Her voice is grating, obnoxious, and reminiscent of a discount version of Ke$ha. Every syllable she utters feels forced and artificial, lacking any genuine emotion or depth. It's as if she's trying desperately to imitate a rebellious rockstar, but fails miserably in doing so. Her delivery is flat, uninspiring, and utterly forgettable. As if the vocal style wasn't bad enough, the lyrics on Bimbocore are even worse. Scene Queen attempts to convey a sense of empowerment and female strength, but ends up falling into the trap of superficiality and clichés. The shallow and cringe-inducing lines only serve to reinforce negative stereotypes and offer nothing substantial or thought-provoking. It's a disservice to the real women in the metal scene who have paved the way with their talent and lyrical prowess.

Speaking of real women in metal, let's take a moment to appreciate true trailblazers like Angela Gossow, former vocalist of Arch Enemy. Gossow's fierce and powerful vocals, combined with her thought-provoking lyrics, have inspired countless women and men in the metal community. Her contributions have elevated the genre and shattered gender norms, paving the way for true talent to flourish. In contrast, artists like Scene Queen and the EP Bimbocore only serve to undermine the progress made by women in metal. Their manufactured and shallow approach to music diminishes the credibility and talent of the countless female musicians who have worked tirelessly to be taken seriously in a male-dominated industry. Bimbocore is a prime example of the kind of music that gives ammunition to those who believe women have no place in metal.

Bimbocore is a trainwreck from start to finish. With its overproduced nu-metal and trancecore mishmash, lackluster vocal style, and embarrassingly superficial lyrics, it fails to deliver any meaningful message or engage the listener. Rather than empowering women, it serves as a reminder of the pitfalls of corporate-approved feminism and sets back the progress made by real women in metal. Save yourself the agony and steer clear of this disastrous musical endeavor.
