3.5 great | SpideryMan | May 2nd 22 | Having began as an effort to flesh out the
band's previous "fictional Greatest Hits"
record "Killection" These seven albums based
on eras depicted in said compilation have
the same general level of quality and that
is a fantastic thing for how inconsistent
lordi have historically been. Humanimals,
Spooky, SuperFly, and Moonbeast alone are
cheesy fun and consistently well thought out
period pieces with appropriate production
to top it off.
If you've never heard lordi, these
seven albums are them functioning at their
highest possible capacity providing
innovative takes on disco, alt
rock/industrial, party rock in the vein of
kiss, 70's prog, early 90s thrash.
It's all here and executed in a unique
manner that still maintains the band's
identity. I would've never thought them
capable of such an ambitious project and
while none of it is especially mindblowing
it's all quite catchy and well played.
