All the songs on this album are solid. Solid choruses, solid verses, and a lot of solid
breakdowns. Despite attempts to differentiate each song from each other, such as the sort of
black metal-ish influence in "flesh and stone", this album still suffers from many of the
songs sounding extremely similar. The singles manage to differentiate themselves somewhat.
With "Stand down" having one chorus and "I am damnation" having and extremely memorable
riff. Unfortunately many of the non-singles on this album just blend into each other.Their
last record had the same issue. This band is clearly very capable in terms of both
songwriting and their technicality but the sameness of these songs show they still have a
long way to go before they release anything incredible. Hopefully in a couple of records
they'll release something that taps into more of their potential. And again, by no means are
any of these songs bad. They're mostly good standard songs for them. But there's nothing
here truly impressive or worth listening to on repeat. It's a solid standard metalcore
record, but not one I'll likely listen to again fully anytime soon. Although I'll probably
still spin "stand down" quite often, as in my opinion that is by far the best song on the
record.

Bleed From Within wrote Era for the third time. Metalcore is becoming as stale as it was back when the scene era died and transitioned to the prog era.

Uninspiring, paint-by-numbers metalcore. Don't waste your time.

As usual with Bleed From Within, the riffs are intricate and the writing is rock solid. However, it's again brought down by being so mid-tempo and repetitive, especially in the second half of the album. Most songs feel almost identical from afar. Highlights are: Flesh and Stone has a dark symphonic atmosphere along with blast beats which isn't what this band is known for. Stand Down is an absolute banger that feels similar to something from Brainwashed-era While She Sleeps. Paradise ends the album on a particularly heavy and oppressive note with a massive and creative breakdown.

The riffs are decently intricate and multi (phased?) while maintaining a punchy, direct production. the songwriting delivers a polished ferocity while never veering into butt rock or trap-pop. A surprisingly impressive feat for modern metalcore, and some of the hooks "it's a catastrophayyy" are beefy with competent riffwork to help compliment the catchy delivery. This is quite obviously not breaking new ground but will inevitably serve as comfort food for those looking for this particular brand of metalcore.

Hmm yeah I think the band are slowly but surely running out of ideas. The second half just blends together without many distinguishing qualities. They still write some of the best breakdowns in the game but songwriting-wise this is pretty samey throughout.

Unfortunately I enjoyed this less than fracture, beyond levitate which is a catchy song everything just seemed to bleed together which was a criticism I had of the previous album that seems even more abundant here. They have obvious talent just wish they could bring it together like they did back in the empire days.
