Kick iii is a masterwork of discombobulating, adrenaline-pumped, furious electronic music. At most points it is
overwhelming and disorienting, confusing yet compelling, intellectual and dynamic, and the gentle, colourful concluding
track Joya feels equal to driving at high speed then slamming on the breaks - it's a kick in the guts. Perhaps intentionally
so, given its title "Kick". This is a challenging, addictive, and groundbreaking album which, in my opinion, seals Arca as one
of music's most innovative creative geniuses.

Arca is a genius at what she does but she often stumbles into the problem of demanding alot from you without giving
you much fun while listening, there is alot of cool ideas here but its so close to giving me a headache too. Wish she
wouldnt be afraid to strip back and lighten up a bit. Sometimes music is the silence inbetween the notes.

Arca at her most festive, chaotic, noisy, unapproachable - all at once. A furious blend of deconstructed club, post-industrial, IDM, reggaeton, all kinds of glitchy things, and even some rapping lines. It's cool, but overly aggressive, with (too) many ideas jumping at you at once.

The third album is Arca?s series and for many this is the best album they have released since sliced bread. On the first few listens I was also in that camp, but as I listen to this album more and more the more I came to realize that this really isn?t anything new for Arca. It sounds a lot like what they started with. Don?t get me wrong it?s the best thing in her catalogue sounding like that, but overall it?s not ?wowing? me like I think it is for other listeners.
