Very possibly Haydn's most popular symphony, a clever piece that uses motifs and traits of clocks to create musical themes that are infectious and fun. Whether or not it's his best symphony is more debatable, but the final movement does inject a surprising bit of darkness into the proceedings, which may or may not pair with the lightness of everything else.
