A band that has always been phenomenally, devastatingly normal on the outside has always harboured a mighty soul. They reign things in here to such an extent it takes a few listens for this one to reveal its majesty but once it does it?s spectacular. For me this is the only record I?ve heard in life that makes me actually appreciate what I have in my own. Staggering.

Elbow's typical brand of slow-burning, long-growing, sophisticated contemporary semi-acoustic rock-pop-rock is at all display here with a more stripped-back, patient approach. On a scale from their unplugged acoustic live shows to 'Little Fictions', think somewhere close to 'Take Off'.
