Review:
Listening to this band is kinda like listening to Paramore. But Automatic Loveletter has a lot of unique features. “Recover” is their debut EP. You might not like their music at first. But their songs are the kind that grows on you..
The Answer – This music for this track is very well composed. It starts off with a few notes on the keyboard, and then the guitars and the drums kick in with an upbeat rhythm. Vocals from Juliet Simms enter with sweet pop punk lyrics soon after. Her sweet, scratchy voice suits the kind of music she writes and sings. The chorus is the best part of the song. The bridge doesn’t change the tempo of the song, it just goes with the flow and then the song closes with another chorus. “The Answer” is just another Power Pop/Pop Punk song, Automatic Loveletter style. Final score: 7.5/10
August 28th 3:30 A.M. – The song starts with guitar and drums and provides two cycles of music that makes you want to sit down and cry about how bad your day was. Then the music stops abruptly and only a few strums on the guitar continue accompanying the vocals from Juliet Simms. Daniel Currier provides some base kicking in the second part of the verse. This flows into the chorus easily. The chorus ends and a few chords on the guitar follow Daniels drumming for a while before the second verse starts. The second verse is more or less the same as the first. The second chorus flows into the bridge quickly. For the last 3 seconds of the bridge, song goes quiet with Juliet singing a line twice (“We dance inside this tragedy...”). Then the chorus returns with a bang and the track closes. Overall, this may be called the worst track in the EP, but still really really good. Final score: 7/10
Hush – My favorite track in the EP. I heard this song when watching its music video. At first I thought it was weird, but after listening to it for 10 seconds, it was AMAZING. The song starts with soft notes on the keyboard and possibly electronic drums to give a cool effect. Juliet starts singing softly at the 16th second. But it’s not like it sounds bad. Like I said before, her voice suits the kind of music she sings. She sounds simply fantastic in this song. Enough said: 8.5/10
Parker - The song opens with simple chords on the guitar and a cool beat on the drums consisting of the hi-hat and base. Juliet brings in the lyrics with her amazing voice. Lyrics are mainly about teenage love. You know, break ups, love-at-first-sight, that sort of thing. Probably Juliet Simms wrote this song about some ex-boyfriend The chorus starts with a boom with Juliet shouting, "PARKER!!...". Chorus ends and heads right into the second verse with little delay. The second chorus flows right into the bridge. The first part of the bridge feels like listening to the chorus again but the in second part, the song goes quiet and Juliet continues singing but softer. The bridge turns into the chorus once more and after repeating the chorus again, the song closes. An awesome song that pronounces the genre of Automatic Loveletter perfectly. Final score: 7.5/10
Shut Your Mouth - The song starts with drums guitars and vocals. then things slow down and Juliet starts singing the verse. The chorus starts and loudens the song once again. There is little or no bridge in this song at all. The third chorus ends in a different way and closes the track. Final Score: 7/10

Make-Up Smeared Eyes (acoustic) - The slowest song on the EP that sounds just perfect. Another song about teenage love. A consistent song in terms of tempo. This song brings out a lot of the scratchiness in her voice. But once again, it suits the song excellently. The chorus just rocks! since this track is the acoustic version of the song, there are no drums. But back-up female vocals can be heard during the chorus. Overall, a brilliant song and a fitting end to the EP: 7.5/10
I thought this album was a fantastic start for Automatic Loveletter. Hopefully they will not disappoint next time. Juliet Simms has an amazing voice and is a brilliant song-writer. This band could seriously give Paramore a run for their money. I'm sure anybody who even remotely listens to Paramore will love what Automatic Loveletter has to offer.
